The iPhone 14 Plus and the iPhone 14 Pro Max are expected to have displays of the same size which will be one of the few common features between the two models. However, some features will be exclusive only to the Pro Max variant and won't be available for the Plus model.

Apple is expected to announce the 6.1-inch iPhone 14 and a new 6.7-inch iPhone 14 Plus at today's event. However, the iPhone 14 Plus and iPhone 14 Pro Max won't be using the same display technology.

The iPhone 14 Plus is expected to use the same display technology as the iPhone 13 with a 60Hz OLED panel. On the other hand, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is rumoured to arrive with a new display design that will ditch the notch at the top of the screen and will be replaced with a pill-shaped cutout that will house the Face ID sensors and the new front-facing camera.

Moreover, the iPhone 14 Pro Max is also expected to have a ProMotion display with variable refresh rates that will range from 120Hz to 1Hz. As a result, the most expensive iPhone model will have an always-on display (AOD) for the first time.

iPhone 14 Pro Max vs iPhone 14 Plus: More powerful A16 Bionic chip

The company is reportedly going to use the A15 Bionic chip for the mid-range iPhone 14 models and will include a new A16 Bionic chip only for the Pro variants.

Apart from this, the mid-range models of the iPhone 14 lineup are also likely to feature an enhanced version of the A15 Bionic chip which will include more RAM and a better GPU.
