Popular tipster Evan Blass has dropped the spec sheet of the upcoming chip on Twitter which reveals couple of details about the upcoming Snapdragon 6 series chipset lineup The tipster has revealed that the next chip that will arrive under the series will be named as Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chipset. Now, this does not come as a surprise as Qualcomm has already clarified that they will be rebranding all their chipset lineup with the same nomenclature.
Apart from that, he has also revealed that Qualcomm will use the 4nm manufacturing process for the upcoming SoC. Along with this, the chipset is expected to offer Kyro CPU clocked at 2.2GHz and Adreno GPU. The tipseter hasn't revealed the version of the Adreno GPU that will accompany the Kyro CPU in the chip. Also, the report does not clarifies the number of cores for both CPU and GPU of 6 Gen 1 chip. However, it does mention that the chip will support up to 12GB LPDDR5 RAM clocked at 2,750MHz and UFS 3.1 storage.
As per the spec sheet revealed by the tipster, the chipset will come with Snapdragon X62 moden-RF system which will support both sub-6GHz 5G and mmWave 5G bands.
Additionally, the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 is speculated to support 120Hz full HD+ display and support Quick Charge 4 Plus. The chip is also expected to support Bluetooth 5.1 and Wi-Fi 6E as the connectivity options.
In terms of camera, the chipset is said to support either a triple rear camera setup of 13MP, a dual camera setup featuring 25MP and 16MP or a single camera setup of 48MP.
If the specifications revealed by the tipster is correct, then the smartphones featuring the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip won't be offering sensor bigger than 48MP that means OEMs will be limited to the 48MP sensors with their smartphones.
