Oppo Reno8 4G leaks in "Dawnlight Gold", looks like a minor upgrade to the Reno7 4G
If we count all the regional variants and regional names, Oppo's Reno8 family is already pretty expansive, featuring seven devices. But that wouldn't be fitting of the Reno8 line, now would it? So, you guessed it, an eighth Reno8 is due to soon join all the others in Oppo's increasingly confusing mid-range portfolio.
We're talking about the Reno8 4G, not to be confused with the already official Reno8, which has 5G support. The upcoming device has leaked today in the official-looking image you can see below. It definitely keeps some of the design elements that make it recognizable as a Reno. There will be two color options, apparently, this "Dawnlight Gold" and a black.
Spec-wise, we should expect the Snapdragon 680 SoC to be powering things, paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The phone has a 4,500 mAh battery with 33W charging, and a triple rear camera system with a 64 MP primary sensor and a couple of 2 MP largely decorative ones - most likely a macro cam and a depth sensor. Selfies should be taken care of by a 32 MP snapper up front.
Rumor has it the Reno8 4G will actually share most of its specs with its predecessor, the Reno7 4G which was launched back in April. That includes the 6.43-inch 90 Hz AMOLED touchscreen, allegedly. So this is yet another very slight upgrade then, which is becoming the norm in 2022 for the mid-range as you have undoubtedly noticed. The phone should launch in "select markets", among which India will be one. We'll let you know when we find out more about it.
