Google to roll out May update to Pixels with a fix for weak haptics on the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro

It's the first Monday of the month, so today we're treated to the latest Android software update from Google. The May update includes the usual security patches, of course, but it also comes with some Pixel-specific stuff.

The most important of those probably has to do with the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro devices and their haptics. After last month's update, owners of these phones noticed that notification vibrations were weaker than before, and now this should be fixed. Of course it shouldn't have been broken in the first place, but this is the next best thing, right? And it only took a month.

As usual with Google, the over-the-air rollout might take several days (or even more) to reach all of the devices out there in the wild. The new build number is SP2A.220505.002 for all supported models.Leaving sarcasm aside, let's also note that the May update comes with a fix for an issue "occasionally causing display to wake without user interaction", as well as a fix for an issue causing "launcher crash after restarting device in certain conditions". These two apply to all of the Pixels that are still supported.
