Samsung's next flagship phone could include a MediaTek processor.

 

Until now, Samsung has used Qualcomm's Snapdragon and its own Exynos CPUs in its flagship smartphones, but according to a new media rumour, the Korean giant is considering employing MediaTek chipsets in its forthcoming flagships, which means the Galaxy S23 might feature a MediaTek SoC at the helm.

However, according to the insider, the MediaTek SoC would not be found in all Galaxy S23 models. Samsung will only utilise them on Asian models. According to the rumour, the Galaxy S22 Fan Edition (FE) will be powered by the Taiwanese company's semiconductors in around half of the handsets.

Samsung has already sourced MediaTek chipsets for its lower-end smartphones, so it's unknown which MediaTek CPUs it will employ for these devices.
