On Google Pixel phones, At a Glance is starting to show your Bluetooth accessories.
Since the Google Pixel 6, the At a Glance widget on Google Pixel phones has been updated to include new functions such as fitness activities, bedtime reminders, and even Nest doorbell alerts. A fresh update to the widget (via XDA Developers) has added a new feature that makes it easier to operate your Bluetooth-connected gadgets.
This feature was introduced as part of Google's Feature Drop in March 2022, but it's the first time it's been seen on Pixel phones. Your connected gadgets, such as headphones or a Bluetooth speaker, will be displayed on a card. It'll also tell you how much power you have left and whether you're connected. This feature isn't that useful, but it should make it easier to see and manage your accessories' batteries.
This functionality isn't available to everyone yet, and I haven't been able to recreate it on my Google Pixel 6 Pro. Reddit user u/mattbxd saw the deployment and said that the functionality appeared on their device before disappearing. For the time being, Google is testing this function, which means you may have to wait for it to arrive on your Pixel phone. It'll most likely be a staggered release, which means we don't know when it'll be available. At a Glance is now only available on Pixel devices, so don't expect to see it on other Android phones anytime soon.
To see if you have the feature, go to your home screen and press and hold the home button until the customization menu opens. Select
Home settings from the drop-down menu, then click the cog next to
At a Glance. You'll be able to choose which elements appear in the future, and this will include Connected devices if you have the new capability.
