NEW DELHI: Samsung is all set to launch its much-awaited flagship smartphones series tomorrow (February 9). The company has scheduled the first Galaxy Unpacked event of the year, where it will launch the Galaxy S22 series of smartphones. The Samsung Galaxy S22 series will consist of three smartphones ? Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+ and Galaxy S22 Ultra.
Like always, Samsung is said to launch Exynos and Qualcomm-powered variants of the Galaxy S22 series. Samsung has always launched Exynos-powered variants in India, but it appears that this year the company has changed plans.
According to a tipster, Samsung is expected to launch Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 powered smartphones in India. If this is true, then it will be the first time Samsung will launch Qualcomm-powered Galaxy S22 smartphones in the country.
Samsung Galaxy Unpacked event is scheduled to take place on February 9 at 8.30pm IST. The company will live-stream the launch event on its official website and YouTube channel.
Samsung Galaxy S22 series likely specifications
As per reports, the Samsung Galaxy S22 smartphone will feature a 6.06-inch dynamic AMOLED display. For context, the Samsung Galaxy S21 comes with a 6.2-inch display. The Samsung Galaxy S22+ is expected to have a 6.5-inch dynamic AMOLED display and the Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to sport LTPO Dynamic AMOLED display with QHD+ resolution. The display of smartphones is likely to have a refresh rate of up to 120Hz.
Under the hood, the Galaxy S22 series will be reportedly powered by the newly launched Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset or Exynos 2200 SoC, depending on the market.
The Galaxy S22 and the Galaxy S22+ are reported to feature a triple rear camera setup, with a 50MP primary lens, a 10MP telephoto lens with support for 3x optical zoom and a 12MP ultra-wide-angle camera.
For selfies and video calls, the smartphones may sport a 10MP camera at the front as seen on Samsung Galaxy S21 and Samsung Galaxy S21+. The Galaxy S22 Ultra is said to have a 108MP + 12MP + 10MP triple camera setup at the back and a 32MP selfie shooter at the front.
