apple: Apple iPhone 14 Pro models to miss out on this feature
Apple is rumoured to launch the iPhone 14 series later this year with four smartphones - iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Max, iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max. According to a report by known leaker Dylandkt, the company is planning to ditch the notch for a pill-shaped camera cutout at the top of the display of iPhone 14 models. Previously, the smartphones were rumoured to have a punch-hole cutout as seen on the Samsung Galaxy series devices. The Pro models in the iPhone 14 series are also rumoured to feature under display Face ID. Now, a latest report by display industry consultant Ross Young suggests that the devices will have both hole-punch and pill-shaped cutouts near the top of the display.According to the Tweets by Young, Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will have the punch-hole cutout to house the front camera and the pill-shaped cutout will feature an infrared camera for Face ID. In a follow-up Tweet, the consultant also suggested that we may not be able to see an under display infrared camera until 2023 or 2024. This means that we can not expect the under display Face ID feature until iPhone 15 Pro.As per previous reports the smartphones will feature triple rear camera setup with a 48MP wide lens, 12MP ultra wide and telephoto lenses. Analyst Jeff Pu in a research note with Haitong International Securities predicts that the Apple iPhone 14 Pro models will feature 8GB of RAM. For context, the iPhone 13 Pro models are equipped with 6GB of RAM. Although the iPhone 13 series devices are available with a base storage option of 128GB, the analyst believes that the iPhone 14 series devices will have a base storage capacity of 64GB.The tech giant is reportedly gearing up to launch the next generation iPhone SE model. The smartphone is expected to launch in a special online event in the first quarter of 2022.
