OnePlus expands its smartphone software support.

OnePlus has announced a new update strategy for its entire product lineup. Starting with the OnePlus 8 series, flagship devices will receive three major Android OS updates and four years of security patches. This also applies to T-series and R vehicles.

Two major OS updates will be available for the OnePlus Nord and Nord CE devices, as well as three years of security fixes. One Android OS update and three years of security patches are planned for the Nord N line of smartphones. Prior to the OnePlus 8 series, OnePlus flagships would continue to receive two Android OS updates and three years of security patches.

The new post also indicates that starting with Android 12, the OxygenOS and ColorOS codebases will be merged.
