Reliance AGM 2021: Reliance Jio, Google jointly announce JioPhone Next

 On June 24, Reliance Industries Limited (RIL) held its 44th Annual General Meeting (AGM), at which chairman Mukesh Ambani declared a change away from the company's conventional oil and gas industry and toward renewable energy sources. Reliance Jio revealed its next-generation phone, the JioPhone Next, in addition to upgrades to its energy business.



The Reliance Industries chairman stated today at the company's 44th Annual General Meeting that the JioPhone Next was co-developed by Google and Reliance Jio teams and operates on a highly optimised version of Google's Android operating system that has been tailored specifically for this smartphone.

In terms of availability, the JioPhone Next will be available starting September 10, 2021 in India. At the occasion, Ambani stated, "It will by far be the most cheap 4G smartphone not only in India but in the globe."

In addition, Reliance Industries has enhanced its 5G connection relationship with Google Cloud. Ambani stated at the occasion that Reliance Industries' core operations will be moved to Google Cloud.

Apart from that, Ambani stated that JioFiber has a total of 3 million consumers in India and has reached roughly 12 million homes and businesses.
