Google Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro Rumors

0
The Google Pixel 6 is expected to be released later this year.

It will be the Pixel flagship for the sixth generation, as the name suggests. Unlike in 2020, when Google only released one premium Pixel phone, the company is expected to unveil two this year. Last year's Pixel lineup was an aberration, so it'll be nice to see Google return to one standard and one larger phone.

As predicted, months before the Pixel 6 series' official launch, rumours and leaks about the impending range are aplenty. We appear to know quite a bit about the series already. So let's take a look at everything that's been said about the impending Pixel 6 phones in rumours and leaks.

Google Pixel 6 Release date

Google's new flagship Pixel phones are usually released in the fall. All other Pixel smartphones were announced in the first part of October, with the exception of the Pixel 5, which was announced on September 30, 2020.

As a result, the Pixel 6 series is extremely likely to be released in early October. The business is anticipated to have a virtual event to showcase the new flagships due to the pandemic.

Google has traditionally taken anything from a week to a fortnight to begin selling the new Pixel phones after the unveiling. However, because to the pandemic's issues, the time between the announcement and the selling date for the Pixel 5 was about a month last year.

Version and Pricing

Despite the fact that Google did not release an XL version of the Pixel 5, the Pixel 6 is rumoured to be getting a larger XL version. It's rumoured to be dubbed Google Pixel 6 Pro, which is a departure from the company's prior naming convention. Google appears to have followed the lead of other smartphone manufacturers who commonly include the terms Pro or Max in their product names, and there's a chance that the Pro and non-Pro versions will differ in terms of features. The two next Pixel phones are most likely codenamed raven and oriole, while we're on the subject of names.

The storage capacities of the two phones are unknown. It's possible that Google will go one of two paths. It could release just one storage type each phone, like it did with the Pixel 5, or two storage variants per phone, as it did with previous Pixel phones.

Google is more than likely to remain with just one storage option per phone.
For the time being, the pricing of the Pixel 6 phones is also unknown. In the Pixel's existence, Google has experimented with both value for money and top-of-the-line price. As a result, it will be intriguing to observe whatever direction Google takes this year. However, because we've heard that Google is going premium with the larger Pixel, we might see a flagship-level price.

Design

One of the most intriguing parts of the Pixel 6 series is supposed to be its design. Google is likely to go with a striking new design, according to leaked CAD-based mockups of the Pixel 6 and Pixel 6 Pro. The two phones will have a two-tone design with a black camera hump that spans the entire back. This bump will separate the two colours on the phone's back.

The phones' fronts appear to be similar to the majority of Android phones. To reduce bezels to a minimum, it will have a centred hole-punch cutout for the selfie camera.

Overall, the Pixel 6 series' strong and distinct appearance will undoubtedly set it apart from other Android phones on the market. With so many smartphone manufacturers playing it safe with their designs, it's refreshing to see Google take the lead.

Processor, Display, and other features

According to rumours, the Google Pixel 6 will have a 6.4-inch flat display with an in-display fingerprint reader. The phone is also claimed to feature wireless charging and include bottom-firing stereo speakers as well as a USB Type-C port. It will be approximately 158.6mm x 74.8mm x 8.9mm in size (11.8mm with the camera bump).

According to reports, the Pixel 6 Pro will have a 6.67-inch curved AMOLED display with an in-display fingerprint sensor. It'll also have twin stereo speakers and offer faster wireless charging with the Pixel Stand, according to reports. The 6 Pro will be 163.9 x 75.8 x 8.9mm in size (11.5mm with camera bump).

On the software front, Android 12 is almost a given for both the Pixel 6 and the Pixel 6 Pro. The Material You design language and wallpaper-based UX theming will be included in the latest Android version, which is presently in beta. It will also include a privacy dashboard that will reveal which apps are accessing your phone's camera, microphone, or location. It will also include a number of other essential features.

Cameras

The Pixel range has long been known for its cameras. A lot of people buy Pixel phones because of their camera capabilities. With the Pixel 6 and 6 Pro, we can only hope that this trend continues. While there have been some reports about the camera specifications, the true camera quality will not be known until these two phones are released.

The Pixel 6 is expected to have a dual-camera configuration with an unidentified third sensor. The Pixel 6 Pro, on the other hand, is expected to include a triple back camera configuration with a wide-angle lens and a periscope-style telephoto lens.
