Global criminal hunt using mobile app as bait; 800 arrested in 4 continents

 Canberra / Amsterdam: A joint operation by police forces in various countries has led to the arrest of 800 members of a global drug trafficking and criminal gang from four continents. More than 10 Billion Money, tons of drugs, weapons, cryptocurrency and luxury cars were seized.


Arrested for selling mobile phones with a secret app to criminal gangs and monitoring them. The U.S. Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Australian and European police have jointly conducted major raids in Asia, Europe, Australia, South America and the Middle East. In 2018, the Australian Police and the FBI launched a major project called Operation Greenlight / Trojan Shield.

The phones include An0m, a secret messaging app developed by US authorities. These phones were sold to organized criminal gangs on the pretext that they were safe for secret communication. With criminal gangs using these phones to communicate seamlessly, the job for the police has become easier.
