With Chrome OS 91, Nearby Share will be available. It displays in Settings under "Connected devices," where you may alter the Device name, regulate data use, and contacts, as well as visibility (All, Some contacts, or Hidden).

You can enable “Nearby visibility” for five minutes from Quick Settings. This brings up settings as well as a sheet with a list of other Chrome OS and Android devices nearby. Using Bluetooth, Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), WebRTC, or peer-to-peer Wi-Fi, you may swiftly exchange photos, text/URLs, and other files.

When Nearby Share first appeared on phones in August of last year, Google said that it would be coming to Chromebooks as well.

Chrome OS 91 adds circular notification badges to app icons in the launcher grid, similar to Android. Users can turn off these alerts by going to Quick Settings > Notifications.

Meanwhile, the Files app makes it simple to save content to your device for offline viewing. A new “Available offline” toggle shows in the top bar when selecting files. After that, the content will be marked with a checkbox, and there will be a “Offline” section in the sidebar. This pinning functionality will be available “later this month,” according to Google.
