Boeing’s 737 Max 10 Successfully Completes First Test Flight

The test flight is part of a larger testing programme that will allow passenger service to begin in 2023.

The 737 Max 10 is Boeing's longest single-aisle aeroplane, measuring 143 feet (43.5 metres) in length. It has a capacity of approximately 230 passengers and a range of over 3300 nautical miles. The 737 Max 10 is designed to compete with AirBus' 321 Neo, and it features a larger passenger cabin, 50 percent quieter engines, and 14 percent more fuel efficiency than current 737s.
“Our team is committed to producing an aeroplane of the highest quality and reliability,” says Stan Deal, president and CEO of Boeing Commercial Airplanes.

It was a watershed moment for Boeing when the wheels touched the runway on the Seattle airfield on Friday afternoon. The Max 10, the company's largest plane in the 737 Max family, successfully completed its first test flight. The business has started the certification procedure, which will allow the jet to start carrying passengers in 2023.
This is good news for Boeing, which had the 737 family planes grounded following two plane tragedies and deliveries halted due to electrical difficulties.

The successful flight will aid in the restoration of public trust. But, more importantly, it will allow Boeing's customers to plan their fleets based on the most popular jet family. Following order cancellations, Boeing has seen a resurgence in sales, with United Airlines, Copa Airlines, and Virgin Australia putting orders for 500 Max 10 aircraft.
