Apple WWDC 2021, updates on iOS 15

Apple WWDC live updates: Apple kicks off their flagship event with a whirlwind of new and exciting features for iOS 15, iPadOS 15, and macOS 15.

 Facetime with spatial audio and True to life directional audio, Portrait Mode, call scheduling, SharePlay, and AR-enabled Apple Maps are among the new features introduced by the Cupertino-based tech company.

New updates to FaceTime! More natural, comfortable and lifelike. Spatial audio comes to FaceTime. True to life directional audio. 

Spotlight can now find Photos and the text within a photo! 

Apple Music is now integrated with Memories in the Photos app, it creates personalised songs to bring life to your photos. Tons of songs to choose from in the Apple Music Library. 

Big changes coming to Apple Wallet. Keys are now coming to smart homes and office spaces, even hotels. Anywhere you go, just tap to unlock! 

Your ID's can now be safely stored in Wallet. 

Apple Weather app gets a visual overhaul.

Apple Maps now offers more details than ever, 3D pathfinding and a full 3D view with verticality. Works with Apple Watch too, 

Transit now uses AR to guide you better to where you need to go

iOS 15 improves the way your AirPods Pro work, announce notifications using Siri, Find and Locate support and seperation alerts, now uses microphones to help focus on the person you are talking to and Spatial audio.

We move to the iPadOS now. New widgets including Apple TV widgets, large size photo widget, game center widget. App Library comes to iPad, takes up space in the dock for easier access

Huge multi-tasking improvements, easier access to splitview, swipe down to switch apps, shelf view to view all open apps, a faster app switcher. 

Apple updates the notes app with Mentions, activity view shows you all the changes while you were away, notes is now systemwide with QucikNote, quick access to notes with a swipe down from the side. Works with Safari with Quicknote support. 

Moving to privacy, even more tools to protect your privacy. Mails can no longer be used to track you, stops cross eyed tracking. It even hides your IP and location and shows you extactly what third party domains an app is contacting.  

Translate now works with macOS. Auto detect language and translate with systemwide support. 

Developers can now build apps for iPad and iPhone on the iPad using Swift Playgrounds. 

iCloud gets new Legacy mode. Allows you to add a recovery contact so that when you pass on, your information is passed on to your nominee. Privacy relay for safer browsing as part of iCloud+ in

More natural language voices for Siri. Support for on-device speech recognition to speed things up. Siri now works offline for certain tasks.

Siri can now help you control your Apple TV hands-free. For all of you recommends entertainment based on your interests. Siri is now on third-party Apple Home devices. Home app on watchOS now offers more options and offers package detection using secure camera. 

Your iPhone can now track your LDL values and something new called Trends. It helps you meet your health goals and tracks important metrics for you to better understand your weakness. You can now share data with medical professionals safely and securely. 

Starting this fall, users will be able to ask Siri to play content on their Apple TVs hands-free using voice commands. This fall, users will be able to select HomePod Mini as speakers for Apple TV 4K.

Universal Control allows you to use a Mac and an iPad using the same mouse and keyboard or trackpad. The technology leverages Continuity features on the devices. Seamlessly drag and drop across iPad, Mac and iMac. 

Apple has announced a new standard to connect various HomeKit-supported devices called ‘Matter’. It includes support for third-party devices

New health features. Fall assist gets a new feature called Walking Steadiness. Built-in motion sensors measure each step to provide metrics and gauge your steadiness and chance for a fall. Will automatically notifiy you if steadiness values go down. 

Shortcuts are now on Mac. A rich gallery of shortcuts for mac or make your own custom shortcuts.This is the start of automation on Mac. 

Safari gets a massive overhaul. New tab groups, cleaner tab organisation and streamlined interface design.

Apple announces Object Capture API for developers. Object capture uses images to create photorealstic 3D models with support for AR previews, all of this using an iPhone or Mac. 

It uses series of images to create a life-like 3D model of an object. It will make AR experience better for developers and end-users.

Swift has a new feature called Concurrency, allowing code to take advantage of multi-core processors.
