The Reserve Bank of India has said it will not issue new Rs 2,000 notes in the 2021-22 financial year. The issuance of the country's most valuable currency has been suspended since 2019, according to the Reserve Bank's annual report.

Currently, the Rs 500 and Rs 2,000 notes are the most popular currencies in the country. The value of these two currencies currently in the market is 85.7% of the total value of the popular currencies.

In this situation too, the Reserve Bank has reduced the issuance of Rs 2,000 notes in the country. By 2020, the bank had stopped printing this note. There are indications that the Reserve Bank has stopped printing valuable currency for security reasons. The Reserve Bank of India issued Rs 2,000 after the ban.
