Samsung to manufacture telecom equipment in India

Samsung Electronics, a South Korean company, is all set to launch 4G and 5G devices in India in the telecom sector. There are indications that Samsung may apply for the Central Government's Manufacturing Supplement Scheme (PLI Scheme).
The company plans to manufacture telecom equipment here for Indian telecom companies and for export to the world market. However, the company has not yet applied for the PLIL scheme.

Samsung is launching 4G devices for Reliance Jio in India. The company is considering setting up a new factory in Uttar Pradesh with the concessions announced by the government.

Currently, PLI is a major player in the telecom equipment manufacturing sector. Global telecom equipment makers Cisco, Jabel, Flex, Foxconn, Nokia and Ericsson have applied for the scheme..
